Tangible Backup Policy
Data Backup & Recovery
We protect your data with automated backups and recovery controls designed for a B2B SaaS environment.
What we back up
We maintain backups of application database data required to operate Tangible, including customer account and transactional records stored in our primary database.
Customer-uploaded files (for example, CAD files and related documents) are stored in Google Cloud Storage, which provides highly durable object storage.
How backups work
- Automated daily backups of our production database
- Point-in-time recovery (PITR) so we can restore database data to a specific time within our retention window
- Backups are stored separately from production systems in our cloud provider’s managed backup infrastructure
- Backup access is restricted to authorized personnel and systems
Retention
We retain 365 daily database backups, providing approximately 12 months of database restore capability.
What this policy does not cover
Backups are intended for service continuity and disaster recovery, not as an archival or legal-hold system. This policy generally does not cover:
- Data you delete through normal product use
- Temporary/cache data not stored in the primary database
- Third-party systems outside our control
- Customer-side backups or exports you maintain independently
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for:
- Maintaining appropriate access controls in your organization
- Exporting data when needed for your own records or compliance
- Notifying us promptly if you believe data loss or corruption has occurred
Testing and improvements
We periodically review backup configuration and recovery procedures and update them as our platform evolves.
