Simulation of tools in the cure cycle

A heat transfer simulation is performed on every tool uploaded to Plyable.

During the cure cycle of a composite lay-up both the tool and the lay-up expand during the heat cycle. To produce a dimensionally accurate part it is important that the tool heats up fully and uniformly to the intended temperature.

The simulation shows the temperature of a cross section of the tool over time.

Accounting for thermal expansion in the design process
