Plyable Attends JEC Forum, DACH

Jamie from Plyable attends JEC Forum DACH, an annual event dedicated to composite materials.

Over two days in late October, I attended JEC Forum Dach, an annual event that provides an excellent platform for engagement for those working in the composites sector. With around ten hours of meetings held with innovative companies across the composites industry my discussions revealed strong potential for future partnerships and advancements in composites manufacturing technologies. The show really captured the next generation of talent in the field and we’re excited to integrate some of this new knowledge into Plyable’s approach.

It was inspiring to meet passionate students working on impressive engineering projects, from rocket materials through to solar-powered cars traversing Australia. As well as meeting engineering students the Forum gave us the opportunity to liaise with University teams such as the Aquilo Rocket team TU as well as potential innovation partners such as Biofibix, who deliver affordable flax materials and larger players like BMW who are currently developing thermoplastic mold technology. There were many consultancies across Europe who are looking to scale and grow to compete with market demands and so we explained how our leading technology can help them do this without any substantial risk.

We also had privilege to present Plyable’s new strategic direction and in particular bringing attention to leveraging AI to build a network of technology development partners to deliver turnkey tooling solutions for the composites market. The interest and feedback received during these sessions have been invaluable and will certainly contribute towards shaping the development of our upcoming software and overall product offering.

The event reaffirmed the DACH region’s position as a leader in composites innovation, with contributions from both major automotive manufacturers and dynamic SMEs. The relationships built during the event opened exciting opportunities for Plyable’s expansion into this key market. Overall, it was a very well-organised event by JEC, supported by an efficient online meeting platform and excellent hospitality, making it both productive and enjoyable. We hope to be back next year!
